Jewelry, Antiques, Collectibles by Karen Maguire & Gary Tucker

Gallery-360-with-textFor the past year and a half, Karen Maguire and Gary Tucker have been setting a standard among the vendors at Rabbittown Antiques and Artisans.

“Karen and Gary take great care in the curating an eclectic mix of jewelry and incredible antiques and collectibles in their store at Rabbittown,” said Gail Miller who owns and manages Rabbittown with her husband, Gary.

“When we have new vendors coming into the larger store, we encourage them to look at Gallery 360’s presentation – there’s always something eye-catching and more often than not, their space contains items of interest to a broad range of customers,” Miller added.

silverAlthough Maguire and Tucker both hold down “regular jobs,” their store at Rabbittown does indeed contain a range of interesting items. If you’re into Fiestaware, Gallery 360 often has a selection of the colorful dinnerware. Maguire said that in addition to Fiestaware, the couple often have Fenton glassware, depression glass, unique beer tap handles, all sorts of framed art and of course, Maguire’s jewelry – both fine and costume.

Maguire said her love of antiques and collectibles began by accident while she was a college student in the south.

“I found a fantastic consignment store to sell of my personal collectibles at. At the same time, a little website known as eBay began,” Maguire said.

“After doing pretty well both online and in the consignment store, I got hooked.”

“My eye for fantastic finds compounded with a bit of luck began a passion for collectibles and business that lasts today,” she added.

Maguire’s partner, Gary Tucker, is newer to the world of antiques and collectibles although “he too has an eye for unique items and he keeps me thinking out of the box,” Maguire said.

Tucker pays special attention to the sorts of items favored by male collectors. The pair refresh the stock in their Rabbittown store two to three times a week.

Maguire, who is an avid gardener as well as collector, said they share their space with friends Steve and Lynn Hughes. All four live and work in the Danville area.
